There are six names on this year’s Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke ballot for the February 27th Provincial Election, and one of those even three weeks ago had no idea that one of those might be his.
Petawawa’s Kevin Holm explains.
Kevin is the Ontario Party nominee, and says his, and the party’s values boil down to a trio of elements.
On the spectrum, the Ontario Party is conservative with a small “c”.
You may be more familiar with Kevin Holm as the electrician who took on Petawawa over its Sign Bylaw.
Holm doesn’t like beat his chest over things he’s done.
It’s ironic that while some nominees play dodge ball with invitations to All-Candidate Forums, Kevin Holm finds himself not welcomed at others.
Returning to the issue of conservatism.
Holm disagrees with Doug Ford’s strategy of calling out the U.S. President over tariffs, and prefers Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s strategy of quiet diplomacy.
The Ontario Party nominee says he understands voter frustration.
If he is unsuccessful in his quest to represent the riding, Kevin Holm isn’t ruling out the poltical theatre in the future.
The Provincial Election is February 27th. In addition to Kevin Holm’s name, the other nominees are Marshall Buchanan for the NDP, Billy Denault, PC; Mark Dickson, New Blue Party; Anna Marie Dolan, Green; and Oliver Jacob, Liberal.
