Renfrew County is honored to have been chosen by the Province of Ontario to host a new Homelessness and Addiction Recovery Treatment (HART) Hub. This initiative reinforces the County’s commitment to enhancing community safety and delivering comprehensive support services to residents in need. The HART Hub will provide integrated services for individuals facing complex challenges, including homelessness, substance use, and mental health issues.
Renfrew Warden Peter Emon tells myFM that a significant amount of funding has been received towards this important initiative:
The creation of the HART Hub supports Ontario’s broader strategy of prioritizing community safety and focusing on treatment and recovery services. Renfrew County and its partners have actively lobbied the Province for this facility working closely with the Ottawa Valley Ontario Health Team and the Renfrew County and District Drug Strategy.
Warden Emon goes on to say that the original number of HART Hub sites originally proposed by the Government is actually fewer than have been developed which is good news for Valley Residents in need:
The Warden added the community owes a great deal of gratitude to MPP John Yakabuski for his support for this application as he recognized the need and was relentless in his advocacy.
