
Two people are facing numerous drug trafficking charges in Arnprior.
As part of an ongoing investigation, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and members of the Renfrew Detachment conducted a traffic stop in Arnprior on Dec. 13. Two people were arrested without incident.
“A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed nearly 50 grams of suspected cocaine, more than 10 grams of suspected fentanyl, over 400 suspected methamphetamine tablets, over 17 grams of suspected crack cocaine, more than 20 capsules of amphetamine salts, four cell phones, a replica firearm, items typically associated with drug trafficking and almost $2,900 in cash,” reads an OPP press release.
Brandon McCallum, 42, and Natasha Pichette, 34, both from Arnprior, are charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – six counts; and
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The charges have not been proven in court. Both accused were released from custody following bail hearings. They are scheduled to appear in Pembroke court on Jan. 29, 2025.
