A driver unfamiliar with the roundabout on O’Brien Road hit the ditch and cut power to a large area of the Town of Renfrew this morning.
A white SUV sat off the road, near a hydro pole and the Renfrew Innovation Centre sign around 10:30 a.m.
Police on the scene said the vehicle shook the lines and tripped the breaker, causing the power outage.
“No bad damage, but it was just enough of a vibration to trip the breakers,” said Const. Bennett.
The driver appeared to be ok but was checked by paramedics as a precaution.
Power was restored in a little under an hour.
The investigation is continuing.
