So far, so good for Renfrew Victoria Hospital’s big week of holiday fundraising.
RVH Foundation Executive Director Patti Dillabough thanks everyone who took part in Giving Tuesday, which brought in $25,480 before that total was matched by My Broadcasting Corporation President Jon Pole, all while losing mail-in donations due to the Canada Post strike.
Dillabough says they’ve met their goal to purchase some vital, life-saving equipment, like a new bladder scanner, which will be of significant importance to their nephrology department.
Giving Tuesday has usually been a fundraising campaign that has seen many RVH supporters mail their donations in, but Dillabough points out that it was actually refreshing to catch up with everyone who dropped by their office at the hospital to give back on Tuesday, as well as with those who gave by phone or online.
People still looking to make a holiday contribution to RVH are still welcome to donate to the Tree of Lights inside the hospital’s healing garden, which will be decorated with lights dedicaed in celebration, honour, memory, or support of family, friends, or caregivers.
