Canadian Army Reserve soldiers from 33 Canadian Brigade Group will be conducting driver training for the G Wagon – Light Utility Vehicle Wheeled (LUVW) between November 30 and December 23. The training will take place on provincial roads and highways between Ottawa and Petawawa, passing through Golden Lake, White Lake, Renfrew, and Cobden, Ontario.
During this time, residents may notice an increased presence of Canadian Army vehicles on these roads. The training will include planned short stops and longer halts for rest, fuel, maintenance, and other activities. The vehicles will not carry weapons or ammunition.
The G Wagon LUVW is used for tactical transport in various military roles, including reconnaissance and liaison. This training helps ensure the readiness of Canadian Armed Forces personnel and supports their ability to respond to emergencies like natural disasters.
Drivers in these areas are asked to exercise caution when approaching military convoys and are thanked for their understanding and cooperation.
