Homeowners staring down some necessary repairs can now get a helping hand.
County of Renfrew’s Community Services department is handling financial assistance for this year’s round of Ontario Renovates Program, offering locals a forgivable loan up to $18,500 to help fix substandard dwellings, including energy efficiency and accessibility repairs.
The program is offered on a first-come, first-eligible basis, with only certain repairs will count under the program. Applicants will need to prove they fit under certain income and home value limits to qualify.
Applications are currently being accepted, with a full scope of the program and the requirements to take part available through the County’s website.
