The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment has launched its annual Christmas Angel Program, a community initiative designed to bring joy to local families during the holiday season. Each “Angel” represents a person in need within the community, and residents are encouraged to pick an “Angel” from designated locations and purchase a gift for them.
Christmas Angels can be found at the following locations:
- Pembroke and Petawawa OPP Detachments
- Pembroke City Hall and Pembroke Library
- Petawawa Library and Petawawa Town Office
- Laurentian Valley Township Office
- Whitewater Region Township Office
To participate, citizens are asked to select an Angel and purchase a gift for that person. The unwrapped gift should be placed in a gift bag with the corresponding Angel tag attached to the outside. Gifts must be returned to the same location where they were selected by December 9, to ensure timely distribution.
Last year, the program helped 602 individuals in need, with support from local businesses and community members. The UOV OPP is hoping to surpass that number this year, making the holiday season brighter for even more people.

This initiative offers a simple way for everyone to give back and spread holiday cheer to those who need it most.
