An individual is facing multiple charges and police have seized two firearms, ammunition and a variety of drugs after investigating a report of domestic violence in Arnprior Monday.
Nov. 18, Renfrew Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received reports of a domestic related occurrence involving uttering threats, firearms, and drugs.
“Investigating units conducted a search of the Arnprior area and located the suspect,” reads a press release.
The suspect’s vehicle was searched and the 33-year-old was arrested and charged with:
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm – spousal
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
“As part of the investigation, officers seized two firearms, ammunition, approximately 128 grams of suspected cocaine, suspected fentanyl tablets, methamphetamine tablets, over $2,000 in Canadian currency and other drug trafficking paraphernalia,” reads the release. “The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.”
The Renfrew detachment, the Renfrew Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), East Region Canine Unit, and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) were involved in the investigation.
