Police say an Ottawa man is facing four Criminal Code charges after a break-in and thefts from a gas station in Rolphton.
On Oct. 7, around 7 a.m., members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a gas station in Rolphton in Laurentian Hills after a break and enter was discovered.
“Entry had been made to the store and alcohol was stolen during the overnight hours. A short time later, police located the suspect at a nearby motel and took them into custody,” reads an OPP press release.
As a result of the investigation a 39-year-old Ottawa man was charged with break and enter a place and theft under $5,000.
The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke at a later date.
“Later that morning, at approximately 10:15 a.m., police were called back to the gas station after it was reported that the accused had returned, and more alcohol was stolen,” reads the release.
The accused was arrested again and further charged with failure to comply with an undertaking and theft under $5,000.
The accused was held for a bail hearing, and subsequently released to appear in Pembroke court on Nov. 18.
