The Save the Grove, Again Committee’s spirits are high, as the online petition they are circulating has surpassed 3500 signatures.
So what’s next?
Sunday, at 11:11AM the Save the Grove Again group is encouraging supporters and nature-lovers to gather at the Ottawa Street entrance to the Gillies Grove Nature Reserve for a silent walk through the old growth forest.
Following the walk, those interested in lending their hands and voices to the project will gather at Emmanuel Anglican Church (corner of Ottawa and Harrington) to celebrate the campaign’s successful initiatives, answer questions, and strategize the path forward.
Although you can enjoy refreshments in a community atmosphere, the Committee believes this is more than event- it is the Call to Action the situation demands.
Media Relations spokesperson David Joy’s press release concludes, “with your support, we are confident that we can stop the development and find a better way forward. Together, we can ensure that Gillies Grove remains a sanctuary for generations to come.”
