The OPP has confirmed that a kayaker missing since last week has suffered the worst possible outcome.
Police have identified a body found in the Ottawa River on Saturday, September 21st, to be the 30-year-old female kayaker they had been looking for since September 18th, when her boat capsized due to rapids near the Inter-Provincial Bridge along Highway 148.
She was one of two people in the kayak when it flipped. A 34-year-old male was rescued by police with the help of private citizens.
Police will not be releasing the name of the deceased.
