Local Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachments will participate in a province-wide traffic safety campaign over the Labour Day long weekend, running from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2. During this period, OPP officers will focus on the “Big 4” leading causes of personal injury: distracted driving, aggressive driving (including speeding), lack of occupant restraint, and impaired driving.
Residents and visitors can expect a heightened police presence aimed at ensuring the safety of roadways, trails, and waterways in the Ottawa Valley. The OPP remains committed to safeguarding the community and all those traveling through the area during the Labour Day weekend.
