Police in Renfrew are investigating following a Saturday evening home invasion robbery that left a person seriously injured.
“It is believed this was a targeted incident and there is no risk to the general public,” reads an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) press release.
Police say it happened on Saturday, Aug. 24, around 6 p.m. on Bonnechere Street in Renfrew.
“Individuals broke into the home and assaulted the resident. The victim was transported to hospital and is recovering,” reads the release. “The attackers had fled with cash in the victim’s car. The vehicle was located a short time later on Briscoe Road where it had been set on fire.”
Two people were arrested in the area, but it’s suspected two other people were involved.
The investigation is ongoing, by frontline Renfrew detachment members, as well as members of the Renfrew County Crime Unit, the Community Street Crime Unit, OPP Canine Unit and Forensic Identification Unit.
