The Ontario Provincial Police are conducting an investigation following a severe collision that left a motorcyclist seriously injured.
On July 30, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Killaloe Detachment, along with paramedics and the North Algona Wilberforce Fire Department, responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on Island View Drive near 60 Highway in the Township of North Algona Wilberforce.
Preliminary reports indicate that the motorcyclist, a 51-year-old resident of Golden Lake, was traveling northbound on Island View Drive when he lost control of the vehicle. This resulted in the driver being ejected from the motorcycle.
The injured driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries. The motorcycle involved in the incident was subsequently towed from the scene.
The OPP are actively investigating the cause of the collision. They are appealing to anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Killaloe OPP Detachment at 613-757-2600 or Crime Stoppers.
