A driver from Shawville is facing charges after a traffic stop over the weekend. Quebec provincial police say they pulled the driver over on John Street in Shawville around 7pm on Canada Day. The 47-year-old driver was not wearing a seatbelt and a further investigation also revealed that the driver was drunk. The driver lost his vehicle for 30 days and his license for 90 after his blood alcohol was three times the legal limit. In addition, he was slapped with a $322 fine and three demerit points.
