
Work on the bridge near the Chenaux Generating Station is resuming in 2024.
Ontario Power Generation is advising the public of overnight closures of the bridge at the Chenaux Generating Station that links Quebec and Ontario on June 26 and 27.
“Ontario Power Generation is continuing equipment upgrades on the bridge near Chenaux Generating Station,” reads a notice. “To accommodate the work, overnight closures of the bridge are required on various dates from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.”
Area residents and visitors who travel between Ontario and Quebec via CR 653 (Chenaux Road)/Rte. 301 near Chenaux Generating Station and Portage-du-Fort should take note.
Alternative crossings include the Quyon Ferry (until 10 p.m.) and at Highway 148 in Laurentian Valley Township.
These are the first closures in 2024. The schedule is subject to change.
