Camp Lau-Ren continues to outdo itself as registrations pour in for this summer’s programming.
Sign-ups for this year are already outpacing the 472 campers who attended last summer, and the camp says that those numbers have increased each year since reopening in 2022 after a two-year pandemic hiatus.
Bruce Patterson with Camp Lau-Ren’s Board of Directors credits the Deep River camp’s popularity to the experience, noting a 2022 survey sent to families of their youngest attendees in their Tadpole Campers revealed 100% of respondents had a positive camp experience.
The answers pointed to memorable moments like campfires, beach days, the counsellors, learning to climb the big Camp Lau-Ren Rock, canoeing, the food, and crafts. Meanwhile, their only downsides seemed to be how short the camp was and the cold water of the Ottawa River.
Patterson adds that most campers also plan to return next summer, and that space in their upcoming camp programming is filling up. You can register online at www.camplau-ren.com.
If you would prefer to get involved with Camp Lau-Ren as a volunteer, leader, board member, fundraiser, or property volunteer, you are encouraged to drop by the Saturday, June 8 Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be tours, crafts, a free BBQ, and more.
