Are you ready to take an unforgettable journey to the charming world of Avonlea with Anne of Green Gables the Musical?
This Thursday, after four months of preparation, Two Rivers Musical Productions in Arnprior is set to launch this epic production, which has caused a buzz right from the start.
Director James Hrkach tells us that there was plenty of interest as soon as the project was announced.
Hrkach says Clara Emery has that sparkle in her eyes and beautiful voice required for the Anne Shirley role. Marilla and Matthew are played by Mary Ellen Vice and Paul Mak. He’s really enjoyed working with everyone involved.
Ticket sales have been encouraging so far, said Hrkach, and show goers can expect a first-rate experience.
Beyond that, said Hrkach, there is a team of hard-working production people who are fine tuning the lighting, set design, set decoration and more.
Two Rivers is known to really push the venue to its limits.
The icing on the cake is the show’s live music. With about eight musicians in the pit, led by musical director Lorie Easton, audiences are in for a treat.
Hrkach underscores the significance of live theatre in these modern times, where computer screens and phones are such a big part of most everyone’s daily life.
He’s hopeful the interest and excitement surrounding Two Rivers, and its productions, continues.
Anne of Green Gables runs May 30, 31, June 1, and June 2 at 7 p.m. at Arnprior District High School and there is one matinee performance at 2 p.m. on June 2.
