It may have taken the best part of one and three-quarter centuries to come full circle, but a request from the Arnprior Agricultural Society to host is 2024 event on municipal property in McNab-Braeside has been approved in a matter of moments.
At its May 21st Session, representatives endorsed a report shared by Township Recreation Director Andrea Lamontagne on Council concerns with the ask as presented May 7th.
The Ag Society backed away from its request to operate a bar associated with the two events it had proposed for the Township grounds through its spokesperson, Stacey Howard, and withdrew an ask for a free dump pass.
Deputy Mayor Lori Hoddinott introduced the motion.
Ag Society staff and volunteers will do the setup and takedown for the twin events.
In a show of unanimity, elected reps were of one mind for approval.
On Saturday August 3rd, a scaled down fair focusing primarily on Agricultural events will take place from 8AM to 5PM, while a 170th Anniversary picnic will occur at the MYCC on the Sunday from Noon to 4PM.
