A recent dispute in Beachburg devolved into much more than a simple disagreement.
The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP were called to a residence in the village at around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12th, after a property dispute that led to an assault, threats, and a damaged television.
Police say one of the parties involved wielded a knife during the incident, and edged weapons were seized during their investigation, although no serious injuries were reported.
23-year-old Justin Spencer McClelland was held on bail on a total of 10 counts, including:
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm—five counts
- Mischief: two counts
- Assault
- Assault with a weapon, and
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
McClelland was being held in custody ahead of a court appearance on Tuesday, May 14th.
