Months of anticipation have finally paid off for the new owners of Renfrew’s Home Hardware.
Adam and Dan Moulton were flanked by representatives from the Home Hardware head office, Renfrew Mayor Tom Sidney, and local MPP John Yakabuski as they put a new twist on a grand-reopening ribbon cutting on Thursday, cutting a plank to commemorate a total renovation to the store they purchased a year ago.
Adam says the project has allowed them to increase their overall variety of inventory, allowing local customers to get everything they need without a trip to the city.
The Moultons, who own a number of Home Hardware franchises, including in Barrie, Hanover, Minden, and Haliburton, have been intrigued by the possibility of taking on a Home Hardware location in the Upper Ottawa Valley for some time.
Adam says that they considered the opportunity in Renfrew a “no-brainer,” noting that they love the passion and energy that comes with working with smaller communities.
That energy would be demonstrated by the many hours of hard work put into the store-wide renovation by their team of thirty employees, who Moulton says executed the project in “brilliant fashion.”
Store Manager Rae Ellen Fraser, who has been part of the team for the past 18 years, says everyone went above and beyond to get the project to completion and to involve the community along the way with a raffle table set up all weekend to support food programs at our local schools.
Moulton says that the next step for Renfrew’s Home Hardware is to step into the community and continue meeting the needs of the community, supporting customers in the same way they do when they shop locally at the Home Hardware.
