She’s a long-time McNab-Braeside firefighter and huge community booster and municipal officials and the community had a chance to honour her this week.
McNab-Braeside Fire Department Captain Karen Barsoski-Murdoch was presented with her 20-year service award on Tuesday.
“Karen has been a vital part of our fire department and community for 21 years and we couldn’t be prouder of her accomplishments,” reads a press release. “On behalf of council, the McNab/Braeside Fire Department, staff and our residents, we are sending our sincerest thanks and heartfelt well wishes to Karen.”
Fire Chief Dave Hartwick was on hand to present the award.
“Thank you so much for everything you have done over the past 21 years. Our community thrives because of people like you that give not only your time, energy and dedication to the job you do, but also because of the care and heart you put into everything. All the best!”
At Wednesday’s meeting, Deputy Mayor Lori Hoddinott congratulated Barsoski-Murdoch.
“Thank you Karen, for your service. We so appreciate it, every resident in this township appreciates you,” she said.
