You’re running out of time to walk among your peers in support of end-of-life care in the Ottawa Valley.
Hospice Renfrew’s 16th annual Hike for Hospice takes walkers, runners, and strollers on a three-kilometre journey starting at their Albert Street location this Sunday, May 5th, at 2:00 p.m.
Executive Director Marjorie Joly says the Hospice is putting the final touches on what is their biggest fundraiser of the year.
The Hike for Hospice passed a major milestone last year by bringing in over $100,000. Joly says they would love to match that this weekend in their quest to ensure a high quality of palliative care for their residents.
Expect to see a crowd this weekend, as Joly notes that there are already 26 teams who have pledged to make the trek through our community. However, the day is still open to residents looking to help the cause.
Registration for the Hike for Hospice will begin outside their main office at 12:30 p.m., and Joly says the day will cap off with bacon on a bun sold by the Cobden Civitan Club.
