The Town of Renfrew has picked its group to lead the way on economic growth.
Town council approved appointments for their Economic Development Advisory Committee at their most recent meeting.
Town Clerk Carolyn Errett says eight people from various business sectors were considered for the role.
Errett notes that the team features a mix of local business owners and the leaders of our local business initiatives, such as the Downtown Renfrew BIA and the Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce.
Council would vote to approve the following appointments:
- Lisa Vincent, Downtown BIA Representative
- Christina Ouelette, Renfrew & Area Chamber of Commerce Representative
- Sherri Cobus, real estate broker
- Josh Curley, owner, Ottawa Valley Coffee
- Jon Pole, President, My Broadcasting Corporation
- Laurie Wichers-Schreur, Owner, Renfrew & Burnstown Castle Building Centres
The Committee will make recommendations to the council on business grants, programs, partnerships, collaborations with local and regional organizations, and monitoring the Highway 417 expansion, among other duties.
