Ontario Provincial Police in Renfrew are investigating what is described as a “serious assault” that occurred in town late Wednesday night.
“There was a serious assault last night on Munroe Avenue,” said OPP spokesperson Bill Dickson in an email. “It appears to have been a targeted incident and there is believed to be no threat to public safety.”
There is an increased police presence on Munroe Avenue West and Munroe Avenue East. The public is asked to avoid the area while police officers continue their investigation.
Police are not releasing anything further at this time, said Dickson.
