Next week is sure to put a smile on the faces of folks at Renfrew and Area Seniors Home Support.
They have been chosen as this year’s recipients of the local Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie Campaign, with their volunteers set to begin decorating hundreds of cookies at both Renfrew locations this weekend.
Campaign Ambassador Christine Mulvihill tells myFM the money will support the many programs they run to help local seniors and adults with disabilities.
Every Smile Cookie purchased at the Stewart Street and O’Brien Road locations between April 29th and May 4th will send the proceeds to Renfrew and Area Seniors Home Support and their Golden Age Activity Centre.
Mulvihill says bulk order forms are available, creating a perfect opportunity for residents to donate a dozen or two cookies as a show of thanks to a local business or group.
She adds that there is a lot of set-up work that has been ongoing since our local Tim Horton’s invited them to take part in the annual fundraiser, and volunteers have lined up to help ensure that next week runs as smoothly as possible.
Last year, the Smile Cookie Campaign raised an incredible $28,984.20 for Hospice Renfrew, an achievement that Renfrew and Area Seniors Home Support Executive Director Dennis Harrington describes as “a very worthwhile cause in our community.”
