The Renfrew and Area Connection Centre has plenty to look back on as they celebrate their first anniversary.
They welcomed new and old friends alike to their Raglan Street office on Wednesday for chili and snacks, as well as a chance to learn more about what the Connection Centre has been up to since launching last year.
OPP Community Engagement and Education Officer Tina Hunt says it was a wonderful chance to introduce their work to curious residents who dropped by, adding to the great strides they’ve made in making people aware of how the Connection Centre can help.
If year one was the introduction, year two will be about the ways the Connection Centre can add to further improve the options they’re able to offer their clients.
That shift in goals comes as they enter the third and final year under their current funding stream, which Hunt notes will be on their minds as they look to grow.
The Renfrew and Area Connection Centre spent their first year assisting almost 2,500 clients, connecting them to important local supports and services such as the local food bank, the Robbie Dean Centre, community housing, seniors home supports, and more.
