People making use of the myFM Centre’s new walking track will soon have an added spring in their step, according to Renfrew’s Chief Administrative Officer.
Rob Tremblay says the town is thrilled with how many people have made regular use of the oval track, which overlooks the second ice pad.
It’s one of the final few pieces falling into place at the new facility, including some last-minute tweaks that are all that remain before day care services also come to the myFM Centre.
Town Council and Child’s Paradise Day Care recently made their lease of the space on the first floor of the expanded arena space official.
The new day care centre will be running in conjunction with the existing site at Renfrew County Place, adding just under 6,000 square feet of space dedicated to looking after the Renfrew area’s kids.
Most tenants in the new retail space are already operational, with Child’s Paradise Day Care Centre’s lease expected to start on April 1st.
Tremblay says that will just leave the Bonnechere Algonquin First Nation to arrive later this year when the medicine wheel is finished, capping off the project.
The town is finalizing the partnership and lease agreements with the BAFN, which will be brought to council in a short time.
Tremblay thanks everyone for their patience as the new facility gradually opened over the winter; adding directional signage inside the myFM Centre is on the way; and landscaping and paving the new parking lot will happen when the weather permits.
