As Renfrew’s myFM Centre continues to open up to the public, another public facility will be winding down.
Town staff are preparing to close the Recreation Centre on Argyle Street to the public as staff and equipment shift over to their recreation complex inside the expanded arena space.
That includes the town’s fitness centre, which will also be handing out key fobs for their new location to current members on Monday, February 26th.
The Fitness Centre, open seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., will also be selling memberships ranging from $50 per month to $350 per year.
Renfrew will have their pick of the litter when it comes to fitness at the myFM Centre, as residents can also visit Ultimate Fitness on the first floor of the arena’s new space.
Morgan Barkey, a coach and office manager at Ultimate Fitness, explains that their new location is also open seven days a week and “has an emphasis on strength and conditioning and features a variety of equipment that caters to powerlifting, professional athletes, strongmen, women’s fitness, and general fitness.”
