The Town of Renfrew is thrilled to see more people taking advantage of the new spaces opening up at the myFM Centre.
The latest piece to open to the public is the new gymnasium court, which began welcoming in people for scheduled programming on Tuesday, February 20th.
The arena’s new, full-sized gymnasium court features shock-absorbing hardwood floors, high ceilings, collapsible bleachers for up to 144 spectators, and lines painted for basketball, volleyball, and badminton.
The space presents plenty of exciting opportunities for local competitive sports, including the likes of Renfrew Prep Basketball, according to Director of Basketball Operations Marek Kopiowski.
He explains that “Renfrew Prep Basketball is looking forward to working with the Town of Renfrew to be able to host some top-tier talent and action in the community. The brand-new basketball court and weight room inside the myFM Centre will also play a key role when it comes to recruiting players from all over Canada.”
Councilor Jason Legris, who chairs the Ma-te-Way Working Group, says residents should keep an eye on the town’s website for an upcoming schedule and chances to book the space.
