Renfrew and Area Seniors Home Support has proudly served seniors and adults with disabilities out of their Raglan Street office since 1987.
Their volunteer staff provide non-medical services that keep the area’s seniors in the home and independent for as long as possible, like friendly visits, grocery delivery, transportation, and the plethora of activities happening at the always bustling Golden Age Activity Centre.
We spoke with Executive Director Dennis Harrington, who explains that being a centralized service located right in Renfrew’s downtown core is crucial for making their services as easily available for potential clients as possible.
Respect is another major factor in how they operate, as Harrington notes that people have a lot of pride and may not always be willing to ask for the assistance they may desperately need. As such, Seniors Homes Support has made a point to make reaching out to them as comfortable as possible.
He adds that the people who come to them quickly become like family, and notes that their clients have come forward on multiple instances to say that getting in touch with Seniors Home Support positively affected their life.
You can find out more about what they offer on their website.
