Those interested in the industrial jobs proposed for McNab-Braeside Township have until Saturday to express their opinions to the Provincial Government on a Ministerial Zoning Order issued by Steve Clark.
The former Minister’s MZO allowed lands for the project to be fast-tracked for development back in the summer of 2021.
Present Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Paul Calandra ordered the review just before Christmas.
Tom Peckett, a former Mayor of the Township, continues to advocate for the initiative.
Since leaving office, Peckett has acted as a resource for the informal German consortium planning relocations to the Township.
A number of firms are involved- Thermal Energy and Wolf Industries already have, or are increasing their presence in McNab-Braeside as we speak.
Others of the firms have been hampered by the Ukrainian conflict; one of the industries with property in Russia had it seized in by Putin, in a reciprocal sanctions spat.
Peckett is a firm believer the promised jobs will be good for his community.
