Sandy Gombik is thrilled to hand over a donation for a cause near her heart.
The main organizer for Renfrew’s On the Clothesline Thrift Store says the community was able to raise $5,800 for Family and Children’s Services of Renfrew County.
She explains that the money will help the not-for-profit fund a number of programs as they help local kids and families in the foster care system.
The contribution holds a special meaning for Gombik, who is well aware of the importance that Family and Children’s Services holds in the Ottawa Valley.
Gombik and the not-for-profit organization’s Executive Director, Jennifer White, were able to meet up for a cheque presentation recently.
She says the White and all of Family and Children’s Services were excited for a well-timed infusion of cash.
On the Clotheslines dedicates their time to raising funds for a different community organization in need each month.
Gombik credits their success to the hard work and generosity of her fellow volunteers and customers.
