Week three is in the books for the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP’s Ride Campaign, with 19 checks and three arrests made.
A 49-year-old from Laurentian Valley was caught and charged with driving drunk in Pembroke during the evening of December 1st.
The next day, a car struck a median in a Pembroke Street parking lot, sending the 33-year-old from Renfrew inside the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
After an investigation by officers on the scene, the driver would eventually be arrested on the following charges:
- Operation while impaired: alcohol and drugs
- Possession of over 30 grams of dried cannabis in a public place
- Driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available
- Driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor
Then, on Monday night, another crash saw a 31-year-old from Pembroke land in the ditch along Highway 41 in Laurentian Valley before also being arrested for drunk driving.
