The local agricultural community has stepped up following Friday night’s fire at the Gould family’s dairy barn.
Friday night’s fire on Queens Line was the talk of social media, with flames being spotted as far away as Cobden and Douglas.
A Facebook post from local farmers shows how the community came together to support the Goulds.
Angela Field explains that within minutes of the community becoming aware of the fire, pickup trucks and cars full of farmers arrived on-scene, helping to contain the cows and waiting on instructions from firefighters.
Field says an empty milking barn was offered, an empty feedlot was found and trucks and trailers were organized to bring around 100 displaced animals to new homes.
