Police in Renfrew say a pair of residents are now awaiting trial after getting busted with a wide range of drugs.
Renfrew OPP, alongside the Community Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at home along Bank Street South this past Thursday, October 19th, and would seize a quantity of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, Xanax, cannabis, and other drugs.
Officers also found and removed a firearm and ammunition from the premises, as well as other weapons and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
46-year-old Tina Amikons and 38-year-old Travis Gauthier, both from Renfrew, are now facing the following charges:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – two counts
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine – two counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada.
- Possession of a Schedule III substance Psilocybin, for the purpose of Trafficking
- Possession for the purpose of distributing Cannabis.
- Possession of a Schedule IV substance XANAX for the Purpose of Trafficking
- Possession of a Schedule I substance Ecstasy for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs
Amikons was later released from custody ahead of a court appearance in late November, while Gauthier was held for bail.
