The Renfrew Rotary Club raced through town on Saturday, October 15th to celebrate something major, and 96.1 myFM got to join in.
Rotary Club President Marg McNab-Tubman says cars rallied through town to find clues to a for-fun quiz that evening as our station was awarded the highest honour that Rotary Clubs can bestow.
Rotary’s Paul Harris Fellowship Committee decided to nominate 96.1 myFM for years of collaboration and support on Rotary initiatives.
That includes the “Helping Hands at Home” program, which My Broadcasting Corporation President Jon Pole brought forward with while area residents were struggling to find financial support through government programs during the pandemic.
Through the program, over $20,000 has been raised and distributed to people in need in Renfrew and the surrounding area.
The Paul Harris Fellowship is named for the founder of the first Rotary Club in Chicago in 1905, and is given out annually to deserving people and organizations who have done something significant for others in the community.
