It’s routine maintenance along a few Renfrew roads, just at an unusual time.
The Public Works Department in Renfrew will be turning valves and flushing out hydrants during the overnight hours between October 16th and the 20th to ensure everything is working properly and identify issues in the system.
The work may cause brownish sediment to appear in the tap water for homes in Renfrew’s south end, including:
- Raglan Street South
- Airth Boulevard
- Pine Avenue
- York Street
- Coleraine Drive
- Buckridge Crescent
- Simpson Avenue
- Grant Boulevard
- Massey Crescent
- James Crescent
- Vanier Crescent
- James Avenue
- Wade Avenue
- Centennial Drive
- Opeongo Road
Town staff are asking residents in the area not to run washing machines or dishwashers while the overnight maintenance happens and say discoloured water can be fixed by running your cold water tap until it turns clear.
However, they also add that residents dealing with discoloured water should not use their hot water until they have clear water again.
