Renfrew Mayor Tom Sidney got the better of last year’s Battle of the Valley, but will that happen again?
He and Pembroke Mayor Ron Gervais have five dates circled on the Junior A Hockey schedule as they reignite a friendly wager that hinges on this season’s games between the Renfrew Wolves and Pembroke Lumber Kings.
The winner of that best-of-five series will get the pleasure of watching the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Reeve of the losing side wear their jerseys at the next possible council meeting.
This season’s Battle of the Valley kicks off with the Renfrew Wolves hosting the Pembroke Lumber Kings at the Ma-te-Way Activity Centre at 7:30pm on Saturday, September 23rd.
