Another road project is underway in Renfrew, which will hopefully take the sag out of Maloney Road.
Town staff say that a section of Maloney Road was closed off on Tuesday, September 12th, in order to begin work that will replace the failed culvert underneath.
Town Council approved the $713,000 project back in June, which is also expected to fix the portion of the road and guide rail above the culvert that have been sagging and tilting since the issue was discovered in 2021.
The entire project has been paid for using the town’s road reserves fund.
Motorists who need to access Maloney Road are still able to enter from either intersection with Bruce Street, but will have to plan around the closure until the construction’s expected completion on October 28th.
