The Charity Pull for the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation was a success last year- but the event is bigger and better this year, according to 71 year-old power-lifter Sid Gravel.
He says last September, foursomes were asked to pull an ambulance sixty feet.
This year’s Charity Pull is coming up on the weekend.
There are three competitive events and a demonstration- but the venue remains the same.
After the tug-of-war is over, individual prowess comes into play.
Gravel himself only started power-lifting following open heart surgery in 2019. Less than a month ago he brought home the silver medal for Canada at the World Power Lifting Championships.
Last year’s event raised 1500 dollars for ARH, this year, with all of the added embellishments, it would be nice to see far more money raised.
