Renfrew’s Legion branch has been picked for a special assignment by their national headquarters.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 148 President Bruce Ferguson briefs us on what they are inviting local residents to at the end of the month.
The Legion, along with militia from Garrison Petawawa, will reenact a Remembrance Day parade outside the Low Square Cenotaph for the commercial shoot starting at 8:00am on Wednesday, August 30th.
You’re invited to take part as well. Ferguson only asks that you leave the flip-flops and shorts at home and dress as you would for the actual parade that takes place this fall.
Ferguson adds that shooting a promotional commercial for Remembrance Day that will be seen by Canadians across the nation is a once-and-a-lifetime event for Renfrew.
Traffic should note that Renfrew’s downtown will close for about an hour that morning while the film crew records the parade in progress.
