Renfrew’s Art Factory expects this weekend’s free art fair to give artists a stress-free spot to show off their creativity.
Owner Patrick John Mills says that everyone is welcome to visit the gallery at 11 Bridge Street this Saturday, July 29th, from 9:00am to 4:00pm to examine the work of artists from both inside and outside the Ottawa Valley.
If you’re an artist looking for a place to show off your work, he says that registration can be done in person at the gallery right up until the end of open hours on Friday, July 28th.
Mills notes that it could cost hundreds or thousands of dollars to participate in some art fairs, but this weekend in Renfrew will be accessible to everyone.
He says it’s a great way for newcomers to come out of their shell and into the local art scene.
While you don’t need to pay to take part, you can help out one of the Art Factory’s programs with a little generosity on the day of the show.
Mills adds that the event has continued to grow over the past few years that it has run, with the Renfrew Art Guild and the Pontiac region’s Stone School Gallery becoming regular attendees.
One thing that artists should keep in mind is that they are expected to bring their own tent, chairs, and anything else they might need for their display. You’ll also be responsible for your own setup, which Mills says some of the more experienced participants drop by to do the day before.
