Renfrew’s caboose has been given an unwanted makeover, just as the actual effort to spruce it up was getting closer to completion.
Mayor Tom Sidney took to social media on Tuesday, July 25th, to voice his displeasure at finding someone had vandalized the Caboose facing the entrance to town on O’Brien Road.
Needless to say, he was not impressed with the latest act of vandalism in town.
Sidney adds that, at the end of the day, the town is trying to make itself “more acceptable, more inviting, more beautiful” in order to attract new residents and businesses, and that there are better, non-destructive ways for the people tagging buildings across town with spray paint to work out their frustrations.
Ultimately, he says that we should be proud of our community and build it up, not try to tear it down.
He’s also reminding residents that an investigation is underway and that police are asking for any information that would help catch the culprit.
