Gynecology care is now closer to home as Renfrew Victoria Hospital’s partnerships with other area hospitals continue to pay off.
RVH is welcoming Dr. Emily Delpero and Dr. Justin White to their Obstetrics and Gynecology Department as part of their ongoing collaborations with The Ottawa Hospital.
Dr. Emily Delpero joined the local Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology earlier this month after spending the past year practicing at the Shirley E. Greenberg Women’s Health Centre in The Ottawa Hospital.
She received her Bachelor of Arts and Science at McGill University and completed her medical school and postgraduate residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology (2021) at the University of Toronto. She then pursued an additional fellowship in Vulvovaginal Health and Menopause at Women’s College Hospital and a Master of Science in Systems Leadership and Innovation at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Justin White will join her in the department on August 17th after finishing up a two-year fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and infertility at The Ottawa Hospital.
He’s a native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he completed his Bachelor of Science with a major in Microbiology and Immunology, Medical School (2016), and Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency (2021) at Dalhousie University. He is certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in obstetrical and gynecologic ultrasound.
Chris Ferguson, RVH Vice President of Patient Services, says that recruiting the two new doctors will “address backlogs and our involvement in the Women’s Health Network of Excellence” and allow them to utilize the Renfrew operating room specifically for gynecology for six days each month.
President and CEO Julia Boudreau adds that she’s looking forward to welcoming both into the RVH family in the coming weeks.
