The spring fishing season begins across Ontario this weekend, so why not celebrate with mom?
Graydon Smith, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry, is welcoming families, enthusiasts, and first-time anglers to “get out and enjoy one of Ontario’s greatest natural resources – our beautiful lakes, rivers, and streams” this Mother’s Day weekend.
Smith says fishing is a great way to bond with the family, and the free weekend means you won’t need an outdoors card or fishing licence to do it, although you will need to carry identification issued by the provincial or federal government that shows your name and date of birth.
Catch and size limits will still apply this weekend, as will all other regulations usually in place.
