International Women’s Day has a 112 year history, and what began as an event to boost Suffragette sentiment in that era has locally morphed to a celebration of empowerment and diversity.
Tiffany Lepack is the co-organizer of today’s (Wednesday’s) activities.
Lepack says today’s vendor event will raise awareness of Pflag Arnprior, which strives for a more accepting future.
She says Drag Queen Story Time features former Arnprior resident Holli Cow’s performances at 5 and 7PM.
As an aside, it was only Monday that the U.S. State of Tennessee followed Missouri’s lead of banning Drag Queen Story Hour performances in its jurisdiction.
The event is at the Masonic Hall on James Street in Arnprior from 4-8PM.
