They won't be allowed to switch into the red pants, but the Wolves will wear these cream jerseys and socks this weekend against Kemptville and Hawkesbury
What’s old is new for the Renfrew Wolves this weekend.
Coach Ryan Leonard tells myFM that his team will swap out their usual blue jerseys when they host the Kemptville 73’s on Saturday, March 4th and the Hawkesbury Hawks on Sunday, March 5th.
The Junior A hockey team will become the Creamery Kings for Retro Weekend, paying homage to the National Hockey Association team that played in Renfrew from 1909 to 1911.
Retro Weekend is one of a growing list of events and ideas that Leonard and the Wolves are hoping to make regular occurrences within our community.
A silent auction featuring the game worn Creamery Kings jerseys will be held during the first two periods of Sunday’s game against Hawkesbury, with winners able to pick their prize up after the game.
Proceeds from the auction will go directly to the NHA/NHL Birthplace Museum at the Ma-te-Way Centre.
