Renfrew and Arnprior OPP are getting ready to Cram the Cruiser for a good cause next weekend.
Media Relations Officer Constable Brianna Roberge says they’ll be in both towns collecting food and cash donations for our local Food Banks.
Officers and Auxiliary members with both detachments will be at the Arnprior Metro on Saturday, December 3rd from 10:00am to 2:00pm, as well as Renfrew’s No Frills on Sunday, December 4th from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.
Constable Roberge says both the Renfrew and Arnprior Food Banks have kept their requests simple, so you don’t have to fret too much while you’re picking your items up.
Roberge adds that Cram the Cruiser has been a long-standing tradition for our local police which has been going for around 20 years now. While the COVID-19 pandemic has affected their totals in recent years, she points to the success they’ve had in filling their cruisers with donations for those in need.
While community outreach is a year-round project for Constable Roberge, she notes that holding events like Cram the Cruiser during the holidays allows them the chance to hear from the community while also giving back during a time when people could most likely use the help.
